Agart is thrilled to announce its participation at the Women In Art Fair, a fair that celebrates women’s contribution to art by showcasing both prominent and emerging female and female-identifying artists at the Mall Galleries, London. This year marks the second edition of this important initiative, dedicated to redressing the gender imbalance in the art industry.

Agart is proud to represent and showcase a roster of emerging and mid-career female artists. The curation of our stand at the Women in Art Fair aims to present a refined selection of women artists that sit at the forefront of the emerging contemporary art scene. Each of the three artists showcase a unique array of art historical inspirations and techniques.

Agata di Masternak’s large-scale paintings present a tempestuous exploration of the concepts of identity and the interconnectedness of human and nature.  Her oeuvre is deeply inspired by her personal experience of decades of medical trauma having been diagnosed with a giant blood vessel tumor at the age of 16 and undergone 43 surgeries to date. Agata’s art transcends these experiences of suffering and pain and a ceaseless power and desire of survival.  Her highly expressive pieces will likely invoke many emotions in the viewer as will they ignite a deeper, spiritual and sensory awakening.  But her paintings are not overwhelming, as are Agata’s personal experiences, on the contrary, her art emanates empowerment, zeal and beauty.  Agata works with a vibrant palette and paints in many different artistic styles: abstract, figurative and expressionist.

Classically trained, Vanessa Stockard plays masterfully with the old-masters techniques. Through the themes of her works, Vanessa allows us to dive deep into her whimsical world of wonder. A visionary per excellence, Vanessa created a whole universe of feline and fantastical anthropomorphic creatures, inviting us on a journey into a modern pop-surreal fairy tale where the profound concepts of good and evil are laced with comic elements of fantastical illustrations of the stories of Kevin the kitten and his family and friends.

The works of the late Renata Bry, present large-scale abstract paintings in which she constructed images using simplified, symbolic or geometric elements alongside representational elements to expand her artistic narrative potential and push the boundaries of perception. In Renata’s words: ‘In paintings created this way, the initial elements challenge the straightforward nature of representational forms, whilst simultaneously participating in the process that transforms abstraction into something that feels tangible.  One reality serves as the commentary on another, creating a dynamic interplay. ‘
