Born in Poland in 1966, and surrendered to cancer in 2021, Renata Bry was a graduate of the Fine Arts Academy in Wroclaw (Poland). Her oeuvre incorporates symbolic forms and geometric elements, aiming to push the limits of perception and expand the field of interpretation. The clear-cut meaning of the paintings is distorted and ambiguous. The abstraction gains a sense of reality, following an inexplicable dream-like logic that broadens our spectrum for interpretation, provoking a search for limitless meanings.

Renata’s paintings offer a parallel reality with an infinite number of scenarios, drawing from the magic of the cinema. Instead of reflecting reality, these obscure narratives follow no rules or restrictions, resulting in ambiguity with an element of playfulness and  absurd. This provokes the viewer to take over the power of interpretation and his own search for suspense. Showcased in more than thirty exhibitions, including Seven individual ones, a few editions of ‘Bielska Jesien’, Poland, the Gerard Foundation Exhibition of Mod-ern Art, the 3rd Biennale of Artistic Forms in Torun, Poland (distinction). Renata was the winner of the The Scholarship awarded by the Polish Ministry of Culture and Art in 1999.
