Born in 1984 in Poland, Agata di Masternak is a multidisciplinary contemporary artist based in London, UK. She began painting at the age of 16 and graduated from the prestigious Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, and more recently from MA Fine Arts, Central Saint Martins, London.
Additionally, Agata recently appeared in a feature-length documentary titled "Faces of Agata" (2023) by a Polish film director, Malgorzata Kozera. This poignant production offers a profound look into her life, highlighting her journey after being diagnosed with a giant arteriovenous malformation (AVM), at just 16 years old. Since her diagnosis, Agata has endured 46 surgeries, resulting in significant medical and psychological trauma. The documentary captures how her struggles and vicissitudes of life inspired her artistic expression. It powerfully celebrates the resilience of the human spirit in the face of adversity.
